Perhaps I will get to update this page sometime this year, or maybe it will just turn into a blog on a new website and this will just be archived somewhere?

With each element that we explore we must first discover the basic space of awareness to enable us to explore the luminous liberated qualities of all the elemental energies that make up this play of life.
Without any fabrication or effort
The discovery of basic space
The natural state of Being
Open, Spacious, Luminously Knowing
Just This
As It Is
We will do a followup on our weekend adventure +
See what we my be exploring next month...
For reference we will be using Healing with Form, Energy, and Light: The Five Elements in Tibetan Shamanism, Tantra, and Dzogchen
By Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
Of that of which I am certain
The things that I useto be certain of, I am no longer certain of.
The things that I use to be certain of, that I am still certain of,
I am no longer certain of in the way I use to be certain of them and altho I can't be certain,
I can be fairly certain that this is not going to stop.

The Contemplative Mind of Fr. Richard Rohr "A Long, loving, look at the Real"
This week we will conclude our exploration of the Christian contemplative way with some of Fr. Richard Rohr Nondual teachings.
Hear is a taste:
Fr. Richard Rohr sharing a taste of
"Unhinging Dualism Toward Absolute Truth"
(Unhinging the universal addiction )
Last meeting's meditation was from Adyashanti's "True Meditation" True Meditation - On CD

The 4 yogas of Mahamudra
Gampopa says about the 4 yogas:
We realize the yoga of one-pointedness
When we maintain a lucid state of mind
Without preventing its unceasing mental activities.
We realize the yoga of non-conceptuality
When mental lucidity is revealed as self-present
And we cease to be concerned
About its existence or non-existence.
We realize the yoga of one-flavoredness
When we are no longer concerned
With diligently trying to remove disturbing influences
From our sensory impressions or mental events.
We realize the yoga of non-meditation
When we see reality consists of the empirical world
And the emptiness that is its nature.
Reality is these unceasing and inseparable aspects.
From our week in:
The yoga of of One-flavouredness
When you understand the yoga of one-flavoredness you will understand yourself.
One-flavoredness means that we not become too fixated on our dualistic ways of thinking or on anything.
When we realise that all polar realities have the same nature we have the flavor of one-flavoredness.
When phenomena reveal themselves to be endowed with one reality; emptiness reveals itself.
Thoughts of existence or non-existence, emptiness or non-emptiness, cease to play a significant role.
Thoughts of understanding or not understanding, meditation or post-meditation, samadhi or non-meditation reveal the same flavor. The flavor of ultimate reality.
Trying to develop confidence by hanging onto your experiences will only create further confusion, instead be with whatever you are experiencing .
Base your confidence on the fact that you are meditating and that you have the capacity to accommodate all of your experiences.
When you understand your own true condition, it is an immediate experience; there is no further need to indulge in rationalization.

We explored from The Awakening Ground: A Guide to Contemplative Mysticism by David Chaim Smith a poetic mix of Mystic Gnostic Hermetic Kabbalistic Alchemy with the Ground of Dzogchen...
"Everything we encounter and perceive in our daily life is a product of our imagination, but because we believe in the illusions we create, they become such deeply rooted mental habits that we completely forget they are little more than fantasy. The imagination is therefore one of our most powerful tools, and working with it by changing the ways we look at our world is what we call the practice of visualization."
~Dzongsar Rinpoche

The Classic Meditation Manual"
by Traleg Kyabgon
We started to look into The Avadhoota Gita and will have another taste of this "Song of the free" here is one version.pdf
Avadhuta a Sanskrit term referring to a mystic or saint who is beyond egoic-consciousness, duality, common worldly concerns and standard social etiquette.
We explored a few words from the Heart Sutra and the some from the Zen poem Sondokai "The Identity of the Relative and Absolute.
Sandōkai, refers to the unity, harmony, or meeting of sameness and difference, the relative and the absolute. San-Dō-Kai. “San” means plurality, diversity and difference. “Dō” means sameness, equality, oneness, or commonality. “Kai” means “to shake hands” or agreement. “San” is associated with the Japanese principle of “ji” or relative reality, “dō” with the Japanese principle of “ri,” or absolute reality. The poem shares its name with an earlier Taoist text, underscoring the historical influence of Taoism on emerging Chinese Buddhism. The poem is essentially about the unity of ri and ji, or non-dual and everyday reality.

"The vividly clear present moment of unceasing awareness is primordially perfect enlightenment." ~Padmasambhava
As we develop the motivation to gain a better understanding of our mind through direct experience. It is as simple as relaxing the mind and observing it with loving kindness, perseverance and patience.

July-September with Rupert Spira's
"The Light of Pure Knowing"
In July through September we explored about 1/4 of Rupert Spira's "The Light of Pure Knowing" Non-Duality Guided Meditations. A journey into the most essential and ever-present nature of our experience – pure Knowing, the truth of our own Being.
No previous philosophical, religious or spiritual orientation is required for these contemplations, for they offer a contemporary, original and highly experiential approach to the essential nature of all experience, free from all traditional religious or spiritual dogma.

the Heart Sutra:
Lex Hixon's "contemplative expansion" of Mother of the Buddhas: Meditations on the Prajnaparamita Sutra
"These Perfect Wisdom Sutras (Heart Sutra) are revered as accomplishing the impossible, expressing the inexpressible, and making trans-verbal enlightened reality accessible to the verbally cultivated mind. They constantly deconstruct themselves as they go along, proclaiming that their teaching is not a teaching at all, that there is no attainment, no attainer, no understanding, no understander, but, importantly, no nonattainer, nor nonunderstander either."

Happy Wesak!!!
Wesak Day is one of the most important festivals in the Buddhist calendar as it commemorates three significant events in Gautama Buddha’s life – namely his birthday, enlightenment and passing away.
During this festival flowers, incense and candles are offered to remind us that, just as flowers wither and die, and incense sticks and candles burn away, so too life is temporary.

We will also be using Dr. Greg Goode's book "The Direct Path: A User Guide" for conducting our own experiments that will explore what/how we experience/perceive as the world, the body, the mind, abstract objects and witnessing awareness. From what seems the most dense to the most subtle and beyond. We will proceed step by step from the simple perception of a physical object all the way to the collapse of the witness into pure consciousness.
Greg is a Direct Path practitioner & has the same linage as Rupert Spira, Francis Lucille, & Shri Atmananda Krishna Menon.
This is one of the books we where working with Sufi Sam's teachings.
Includes working with the Breath, Divine Attribute Walks, Dance, Meditation, Stories, poems...
This reprint of the classic 1975 book is highley recommended. ♡
We explored some of Lex Hixon's "contemplative expansion" of Mother of the Buddhas: Meditations on the Prajnaparamita Sutra This book traces the transmissions from living Buddha to living Buddha. Centuries of teachings as the enlightenment of the Buddha is passed on into the future to reach us now.
The root message of the Sutra is non-duality - that is, there is no "me" and "you", no "object" and "observer", no "known" and no "knower".
This fundamental unity of all being leads to a universal approach to enlightenment - working for the enlightenment of all beings not just one's own.
Om Tadyata, Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha
"Om it goes like this,
Pure Presence is transcending, ever transcending, transcending transcendience, transcending even the transcendience of transcendience,
It Is Total Awakeness
It Is Suchness."
